This coming Sunday we will celebrate the great festival of the Church known as Pentecost; commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the first followers of Christ. Just as those followers were empowered for mission and ministry, we too are called by the Spirit to live out our faith in a manner that is life changing, both for ourselves and for those around us.
This week has given us what may seem to be a bit of a challenge in this regard. Unexpectedly, the landlord for our Church building was given an offer on the building that hinged on immediate occupancy. As a result, on Wednesday, June 8th, we were placed in the very difficult position of having to leave our building in Whiteland.
Beginning this Sunday, will will be meeting in Bargersville at the Parsonage. You can follow this link to see a map. For the time being, Divine Service will continue to start at 10 AM, and we will have our Pentecost BBQ this Sunday as planned.
This may seem like a setback, but I am pleased to report that every core member of our congregation has committed to remaining with us during this time of transition. God has called us to fellowship with him and has called us to walk that journey of fellowship with one another. As we witness with awe this coming Sunday the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the Apostles, let us also witness how God preserves and defends his people - even today - against every assault of the enemy!
See you Sunday, and don't forget your sides!
